OFFICE 365 MIGRATION SERVICE + ONGOING MICROSOFT 365 MANAGEMENT

A structured approach to licensing, security configuration and day-to-day administration – so Microsoft 365 stays reliable as your business changes.

Microsoft 365 isn’t “set and forget”. The outcomes come from how the tenant is configured, secured and maintained over time. Our Microsoft 365 managed services cover planning, migration, setup and ongoing changes, so your team can use Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive without constant admin work, security gaps, or licence confusion.

What is a Microsoft 365 managed service?

A Microsoft 365 managed service is an ongoing partnership where your Microsoft 365 tenant is planned, configured, secured and maintained for business use. It includes day-to-day administration, licence management, security controls, and ongoing optimisation – plus structured delivery for Microsoft 365 migration when you’re moving from legacy or on-prem environments.

Why businesses move to Microsoft 365 managed services

Most problems in Microsoft 365 come from inconsistent setup, unclear ownership and messy permissions or licensing. Businesses usually move to a managed model when internal time is getting eaten by user changes, mail issues, security incidents, and “who owns this?” questions – or when a migration needs to be done once, properly, with minimal disruption.

Benefits of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 when it’s managed properly

A managed approach reduces admin overhead, improves security posture, and standardises how teams collaborate. It also keeps licensing aligned to real usage, so you’re not paying for the wrong mix of plans or leaving features unmanaged.

[

Secure access across devices and locations

Staff can work from desktop, mobile or browser with consistent sign-in and access to email, files and collaboration tools.

[

Always-current apps without manual updates

Microsoft manages core updates in the cloud, reducing version conflicts, installation admin and “it works on my machine” issues.

[

Standardised collaboration in Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

A consistent structure for chat, meetings, file storage and sharing so work doesn’t splinter into emailed attachments and duplicate copies.

[

Built-in security configuration that stays enforced

Identity and access controls (including MFA and Conditional Access) plus baseline tenant hardening to reduce account risk and misconfiguration.

[

Licensing aligned to roles, usage and cost control

Licence selection and ongoing optimisation so you’re not overpaying, under-licensing key users, or carrying stale accounts over time.

How our Microsoft 365 migration and managed service is delivered

We assess licensing, security posture and requirements, then run a structured Microsoft 365 migration (or Office 365 migration service) covering mailboxes, files and collaboration. After go-live, we manage the tenant day to day – onboarding/offboarding, permissions, Teams/SharePoint structure and policy updates – with regular reviews to improve security, control cost and keep usage consistent.

What we manage for Microsoft 365

  • Migrations: Microsoft 365 migration + Office 365 migration service (mail, files, collaboration)
  • Tenant management: configuration, changes and governance across the environment
  • Users + licensing: onboarding/offboarding, access, licence allocation and cost control
  • Core workloads: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive setup and optimisation
  • Security + compliance: MFA, Conditional Access, identity controls, retention/DLP where required
  • Reviews + reporting: ongoing optimisation, security posture and usage visibility

MICROSOFT 365 BACKUP AND THE SHARED RESPONSIBILITY MODEL

Most businesses assume Microsoft backs up their data. It does not. Microsoft runs a shared responsibility model: Microsoft keeps the platform available, but your data, identities and configuration are your responsibility. Microsoft’s own Services Agreement is explicit, recommending that you regularly back up your content using third-party apps and services.

Native retention is not backup. Deleted Exchange Online items are recoverable for 14 days by default and up to 30 days if an admin extends it, and SharePoint and OneDrive items sit in the recycle bins for 93 days. After those windows the data is gone, including after ransomware, a malicious deletion by a departing staff member or a misconfigured retention policy. Microsoft’s own 2024 backup product helps, but it only covers Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive and keeps the copy inside the Microsoft cloud.

We close that gap with a managed third-party backup that stores an independent, recoverable copy outside the Microsoft tenant, covering Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams. We set retention to match your record-keeping obligations and test restores so recovery is real rather than theoretical.

If data resilience is a board-level concern, pair this with our cyber security services and a documented recovery position, delivered alongside day-to-day local IT support.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Microsoft 365 managed service for businesses?

An ongoing service where we plan, configure, secure and maintain your Microsoft 365 tenant so your team can use email, files and collaboration tools without constant admin or security issues.

When should we move from in-house management to a managed Microsoft 365 service?

When internal time is being consumed by user changes, security issues, mail problems or licence confusion – or when you’re planning a significant Microsoft 365 migration and want it done right the first time.

Can you help us migrate from on-premises or older Office installations?

Yes. We provide Microsoft 365 migration and an Office 365 migration service covering mailboxes, files and collaboration spaces with a structured plan to minimise downtime and user disruption.

What parts of Microsoft 365 do you manage?

User and licence administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive configuration, security policies (including MFA and Conditional Access), retention settings and ongoing tenant changes.

Can you work with our existing Microsoft 365 tenant instead of starting from scratch?

Yes. We can review and remediate an existing tenant, tidy licensing, tighten security and restructure services to align with current and future needs.

How do you help us avoid overspending on licences?

We analyse usage, roles and requirements to recommend the right licence mix, remove unused licences and ensure features match what staff actually need.
